festival travel

“As soon as you honor the present moment, all unhappiness and struggle dissolve, and life begins to flow with joy and ease. When you act out the present-moment awareness, whatever you do becomes imbued with a sense of quality, care, and love—even the most simple action.”

~Eckhart Tolle

There are many different forms of travel. People can travel solo, with a group, to see family, volunteer, take a romantic couples getaway, business travel, and then there’s a genre of people called festival travelers – who travel not just to hear the music but to feel it.

When I attend music festivals I always feel so free, and liberating. I truly believe its really more than just hearing the music.

(PSA before reading on: No, I am not a hippy (most days). No, I have never taken drugs).

When you hear the music you let it take over your entire being and relish in thought that you will never live this second, so you better make it count. I believe every day brings a chance for you to step out of your comfort zone, to live free of regret and fill your life with as much joy that you can muster. Music festivals parallel these thoughts.

London – Bon Jovi – July 5th, 2013

Was dead sober. Just honestly don’t remember.

Pretty sure we heard some music, and snuck through the exit into Hyde Park.

Bon Jovi – Studying Abroad in Euro

VoodooFestival – New Orleans, LA October 27th – 29th

Voodoo brings together music, art, community, cuisine and all the mystery that comes along with Halloween weekend. And what better place than New Orleans. The SnackCrate crew and I bonzi’d over from Florida for this spooky three day weekend. Over 70 bands played from October 27th-29th. Our favorites were: Galantis, Dillion Francis, Post Malone, RL Grime, Yellow Claw, NGHTMRE, Louis the Child, and Illenium.

A weekend to remember filled with great music and good friends! Even got to have a little fun on Bourbon Street!

Tomorrow World – Boom, Belgium July 2014

So yeah this didn’t happen even though we flew to Belgium just to go to this festival. Brussels was a cool place though. Lesson Learned: Buy tickets early in advance, make a plan, follow it, and then rage.

Til next festival – hope this inspires you to feel the music, to get out of your comfort zone and to live your best life, today!
